2109323 9322098 PCTABS00027 A tool assembly (10) for installing and removing horizontally oriented retaining pins (12) in a mechanical joint (14) between a bucket tooth (16) and a tooth adapter (18) includes first and second lever members (20, 22) and first and second threaded members (50, 52) which are threadably connected to the respective first and second lever members (20, 22). The second lever member (22) is pivotably connected to the first member (20). The tool assembly (10) is adapted to be placed over a bucket tools (16) having a horizontally oriented retaining pin (12), with the second threaded member (52) aligning with and contacting the retaining pin (12). As the first threaded member (50) is rotated, a portion of the first lever member (20) contacts the tooth (16) and the second threaded member (52) contacts the pin (12) and forces the pin (12) into the joint (14), or out of the joint (14).
