ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a horizontal extrusion press, the discharge conveyor comprises a plurality of short longitudinal conveyor units each comprising chains and beams, and a subsequent transverse conveyor has stationary conveying elements extending permanently into spaces between the successive longitudinal conveyor units. The longitudinal conveyor units can be raised and lowered relative to the transverse conveyor, in order to transfer extruded products from the longitudinal conveyor onto the transverse conveyor.
