Disclosed are systems (10) and methods that include a thermal desorption unit (20), a chromatographic column (24), and an interface device (60) between the unit (20) and the column (24). The interface device (60) controls the fluid flowing into the column, such as by providing additional carrier gas to maintain a substantially constant gas flow or velocity, by proving a controlled temperature increase, or by venting a portion of the gas received from the thermal desorption unit (20), thereby removing the dependence on the thermal desorption unit (20) for such control. In some embodiments, the interface (60) is a chromatographic injector. In certain embodiments, a transfer line (28) from the desorption unit (20) is coupled to the same port of the interface device (60) as the chromatographic column (24). In some of these embodiments, this is accomplished by employing a special adaptor.
L'invention concerne des systèmes (10) et des procédés dans lesquels sont utilisés un désorbeur thermique (20), une colonne de chromatographie (24), et un dispositif d'interface (60) entre le désorbeur (20) et la colonne (24).
