A method and related system for operating a downhole tool connected to coiled tubing (16) comprises introducing the tool (20) and the coiled tubing (16) into a wellbore (10), measuring by means of a load cell (24) compression, tension and/or impact forces applied to the tool (20) providing to the earth's surface a signal indicative thereof, using the signal to determine at the earth's surface the location of the tool (20) within the wellbore (10), and then operating the tool (20). This enables the operator to determine the tool's location so that the tool can be operated as required or retrieved. Possible applications are setting of a gas lift valve by means of a kickover tool, operating a shifting tool for moving the sleeve of a sliding sleeve valve, setting and retrieving of a flow control device such as a safety valve, blanking plug or standing valve.
Procédé et système associé pour la mise en oeuvre d'un outil de fond relié à une colonne enroulée (16). Le procédé consiste à introduire l'outil (20) et la colonne enroulée (16) dans un puits de forage (10), à mesurer au moyen d'un dynamomètre (24) les efforts de compression, de tension et/ou de choc subis par l'outil (20), à renvoyer à la surface un signal représentatif de ces efforts, à utiliser ce signal pour déterminer, à la surface, l'emplacement de l'outil (20) dans le puits de forage (10), et à actionner l'outil (20). Par conséquent, l'opérateur peut déterminer l'emplacement de l'outil et l'actionner de la façon voulue ou le récupérer. Cette invention s'applique notamment à la mise en place d'une soupape de gas-lift au moyen d'un outil de décentrage, la mise en oeuvre d'un outil de décalage servant à déplacer le manchon d'une vanne à manchon coulissant, la mise en place et la récupération d'un dispositi régulateur de débit tel qu'une soupape de sûreté, un obturateur de tubage percé ou un clapet fixe.
