Piperidin-2-one derivative compounds represented by the following general formula (I) and salts thereof: wherein each symbol is as defined in the description. Because of inhibiting the activation of p38MAP kinase, the compounds represented by the general formula (I) are useful in preventing and/or treating various inflammatory diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis deformans, arthritis, osteoporosis, autoimmune diseases, infections, sepsis, cachexia, brain infarction, Alzheimer~s disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, reperfusion injury, thrombosis, glomerular nephritis, diabetes, host-versus-graft rejection, inflammatory colon diseases, Crohn~s disease, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, tumor proliferation and metastasis, multiple myeloma, plasmacytoid leukemia, Castleman~s disease, intra-arterial myxoma, psoriasis, dermatitis, gout, adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), arteriosclerosis, post-PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty) restenosis and pancreatitis.

L'invention concerne des composés dérivés de pipéridine-2-one représentés par la formule générale (I) suivante, ainsi que des sels de ceux-ci. Dans la formule (I), chaque symbole est tel que défini dans la description. Du fait de leur propriété d'inhibition de l'activité kinase p38MAP, les composés selon l'invention sont utiles dans la prévention et/ou le traitement de diverses maladies inflammatoires, de la polyarthrite rhumatoïde, de la polyarthrite chronique évolutive, de l'arthrite, de l'ostéoporose, des maladies auto-immunes, des infections, de la sepsie, de la cachexie, de l'infarctus cérébral, de la maladie d'Alzheimer, de l'asthme, de la maladie pulmonaire obstructive chronique, des lésions de reperfusion, de la thrombose, de la glomérulonéphrite, du diabète, du rejet de greffon contre l'hôte, des maladies inflammatoires du colon, de la maladie de Crohn, de la colite ulcéreuse, de la sclérose en plaques, de la prolifération des tumeurs et des métastases, du myélome multiple, de la leucémie plasmacytoïde, de la maladie de Castelman, du myxome intra-artériel, du psoriasis, de la dermatite, de la goutte, du syndrome de détresse respiratoire (SDRA), de l'artériosclérose, de la resténose post-ACTP (angioplastie coronarienne transluminale percutanée) et de la pancréatite.
