A heating element includes an outer sheath which has a terminal pin extending outward of the end of the sheath. A heat shrunk tubing encapsulates the end portion of the sheath and the adjacent portion of the terminal pin. The tubing has an outer jacket of a semi-rigid, cross-linked polyolefin, which contracts at a predetermined shrink temperature, and an inner liner of a thermoplastic adhesive sealant, which melts and flows at the shrink temperature.
