A process for preparing a 1,3-diol by hydrogenating a feed comprising a 3- hydroxyaldehyde in the presence of a catalyst and a hydrogen source, wherein syngas is used as hydrogen source, and the catalyst is a heterogeneous catalyst comprising copper on a support, and a process for preparing a 1,3- alkanediol by conversion of an oxirane in a process comprising hydroformylation and hydrogenation, which steps may optionally be conducted, simultaneously, in a single reaction vessel.
L'invention porte: sur un procédé de préparation de 1,3-diol par hydrogénation d'un apport de 3-hydroxyaldéhyde en présence d'un catalyseur et d'une source d'hydrogène, ledit catalyseur, du type a hétérogène, comprenant du cuivre sur support; et sur un procédé de préparation de 1,3-alkanediol par conversion d'un oxirane dans un processus d'hydroformylation et d'hydrogénation, ces étapes pouvant se dérouler éventuellement simultanément dans un même réacteur.
