A micturation detection and training apparatus. The apparatus comprises an absorbent material enclosing an electrical sensor for detection of presence of urine, and an electrical circuit connecting said sensor to a battery and an alerting device. The battery and alerting device are external to and spaced apart from the absorbent material. The alerting device is adapted to produce a visual, auditory or vibratory signal when the sensor detects the presence of urine.
