A protective body garment comprising an outer layer of penetration resistant armour, a gas inflatable bladder and inflation means for inflating the bladder to provide buoyancy to the wearer of the garment when immersed in water. The garment has an inner support means (130) to support the inner surface of the bladder (110) and the inflatable bladder is placed between the inner support means (130) and the outer layer of armour (138). The garment may also possess wall portions (115) which when the device is deflated are held together by releasable interengaging means and when the device is inflated are separated to increase the size of the garment to accommodate the volume of the inflated device.
L'invention concerne un vêtement corporel de protection qui comprend une couche externe de gilet de protection balistique résistant à la pénétration, un sac gonflable avec un gaz, et un dispositif de gonflage dudit sac de manière à fournir à l'utilisateur dudit vêtement une certain flottabilité, lors d'une immersion. Ce vêtement comprend un dispositif de support interne servant à soutenir la surface interne du sac et le sac gonflable est disposé entre le dispositif de support interne et l'autre couche externe du gilet de protection balistique. Ledit vêtement peut aussi présenter des parties de parois qui, lorsque le dispositif est dégonflé, sont maintenues ensemble au moyen d'un dispositif d'imbrication amovible, et lorsque le dispositif est gonflé, sont séparées pour accroître la taille du vêtement afin de loger le volume du dispositif gonflé.
