A catheter assembly comprises a catheter shaft, a balloon and a pair of collars engaged to the catheter shaft. Each collar has a body portion and at least one lip portion extending radially outward from the body portion. Each collar has a nonactivated state and an activated state, wherein in the nonactivated state the balloon is rotatable about the collars and each lip portion is constructed and arranged to abut a portion of the balloon to prevent the balloon from moving longitudinally relative thereto. In the activated state the body portion of each collar is sealingly engaged to at least a portion of the balloon.

L~invention concerne un ensemble de cathéter comprenant une tige de cathéter, un ballonnet et une paire de colliers fixés sur la tige de cathéter. Chaque collier comporte une partie de corps et au moins une partie de rebord se prolongeant radialement vers l~extérieur depuis la partie de corps. Chaque collier possède un état non activé et un état activé. Dans l~état non activé, le ballonnet peut tourner autour des colliers et chaque partie de rebord est configurée et disposée pour venir buter contre une partie du ballonnet pour empêcher le ballonnet de se déplacer longitudinalement par rapport à elle. Dans l~état activé, la partie de corps de chaque collier est fixée de façon étanche sur une partie au moins du ballonnet.
