ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pallet container assembly has a thin-walled plastic container for liquid or fluid filling materials, a wire or pipe grating which tightly surrounds the plastic container as a supporting casing and which is made of horizontal and vertical grating bars and a bottom pallet upon which rests the plastic container and to which the wire grating supporting casing is fixed. In order to improve the dropping resistance of a filled pallet container and to simplify the production of the closed supporting casing, the grating plate is coupled by means of at least one sheet metal strip which covers the coupling area of the grating plate. The lateral outer edges and if required several inner sheet metal tongues of the sheet metal strip are each bent around one vertical grating bar and firmly clinched.
