A position detector (11, 12) detects a relative position of an optical head (2) to a recording medium (1), and on the basis of the thus-detected relative position, a position detection signal (D) is generated in response to movement of a light beam (6) over a predetermined distance. Then, in response to the position detection signal, a comparison is made between the number (Na) of track crossing counted for the predetermined movement distance on the basis of reception of reflection of the light beam (6), and a predetermined reference value (Nb) for the predetermined movement distance. Then, track crossing count compensation data (Nc) is generated which corresponds to a difference between the counted number of track crossing and the reference value, and the counted number of track crossing is corrected by use of such compensation data.
Détecteur de position (11, 12) détectant la position relative d'une tête optique (2) d'un support d'enregistrement (1), puis selon la position relative ainsi détectée, un signal de détection de la position (D) est produit en réponse à un déplacement d'un faisceau lumineux (6) sur une distance prédéterminée. Ensuite, en réponse au signal de détection de la position, une comparaison est faite entre le nombre (Na) de croisements de pistes comptés pour la distance prédéterminée du déplacement, conformément à la réception de la réflexion du faisceau lumineux (6), et une valeur de référence prédéterminée (Nb) pour la distance prédéterminée du déplacement. Des données de correction (Nc) sur le nombre de croisements de pistes sont ensuite produites et correspondent à une différence entre le nombre compté de croisements de pistes et la valeur de référence. Finalement, le nombre compté de croisement de pistes est corrigé au moyen de telles données de correction.
