The present invention relates to a modular polymeric insulator for overhead power distribution networks. Said insulator comprises: a first insulating module adjacent to a supporting element; at least one further insulating module superimposed to said first insulating module and a non-metallic pin extending through said first insulating module and said at least one further insulating module. The modular polymeric insulator has a similar performance to a "Post type" insulator with the advantage of being resistant to impact and much lighter than a "Post type" insulator.

L'invention concerne un isolateur modulaire polymère destiné à être installé sur des réseaux aériens de distribution d'électricité. Ledit isolateur comprend: un premier module d'isolation adjacent à un élément de support; au moins un autre module d'isolation superposé sur le premier module d'isolation et une broche non métallique s'étendant à travers les deux modules d'isolation. Cet isolateur modulaire polymère présente une performance identique à celle d'un isolateur du type tige et l'avantage de résister aux chocs et d'être plus léger que l'isolateur du type tige.
