A machine for automatically attaching cover slips to microscope slides having specimens for microscopic examination, comprising a first magazine (6) for microscope slides (8), a second magazine (9) for cover slips (11), and a reciprocating transport means (12) for transport of slides (8) and cover slips (11) from the respective magazines to a working station (13) comprising a pumping means (14) for application of adhesive to slides, and a lifting means (15) for lifting and placing of a cover slip (11) on a slide (8) which is provided with adhesive. The two magazines (6, 9) are located on opposite sides of the transport means (12), and the transport means is arranged to carry a slide (8) from the first magazine (6) to the working station (13) in an outgoing movement from a home position, and to carry a cover slip (11) from the second magazine (9) to the working station in a return movement, the lifting means (15) being arranged to lift a cover slip (11) from the transport means (12, 31) before the latter is allowed to start its outgoing movement, and further is arranged to place a cover slip (11) on the slide (8) on the working station (13) with terminated outgoing movement of the transport means (12) and after application of adhesive to the slide by the pumping means (14). Further, the transport means (12) is arranged to bring the slide with attached cover slip back to the first magazine (6) during its return movement, at the same time as a new cover slip (11) is carried from the second magazine (9) to the working station (13).

Cette invention a trait à un appareil fixant automatiquement des lamelles de protection sur des lames de microscope porteuses d'échantillons à examiner, lequel appareil possède un premier magasin (6) pour lames de microscope (8), un second magasin (9) pour lamelles de protection (11) et un mécanisme de transfert à va-et-vient (12) transférant les lames (8) et les lamelles de protection (11) de leur magasins respectifs vers un poste de travail (13) comprenant un dispositif de pompage (14) servant à appliquer un adhésif sur les lames et un dispositif élévateur (15) soulevant et plaçant une lamelle de protection (11) sur une lame (8) rendue adhésive. Les deux magasins (6, 9) sont disposés sur les cotés opposés du mécanisme de transfert (12) qui est conçu pour transférer, à l'aller, une lame (8) du premier magasin (6) vers le poste de travail (13) et, au retour, une lamelle de protection (11) du second magasin (9) vers le poste de travail. Le dispositif élévateur (15) est conçu pour enlever une lamelle (11) du mécanisme de transfert (12, 31) avant que ce dernier n'ait entamé son déplacement aller ainsi que pour placer la lamelle de protection (11) sur la lame de microscope (8) à la hauteur du poste de travail (13), le déplacement aller du mécanisme de transfert (12) étant achevé et l'adhésif ayant été appliqué sur la lame par le dispositif de pompage (14). Le mécanisme de transfert (12) est également conçu pour ramener la lame et la lamelle qui y est fixée dans le premier magasin (6) lors de son déplacement retour en même temps qu'une nouvelle lamelle (11) est transférée du second magasin (9) vers le poste de travail (13).
