A combination underbody and overbody blanket has first and second portions sandwiching a middle portion. The first portion may be shorter than the second portion. An opening is provided at the middle portion, or at a location that overlaps the middle and first portions. The opening has a dimension sufficiently large to enable the head of a patient to pass through. At least one air inlet is provided at the middle portion to allow air to be input into the blanket. The blanket is configured in the shape of a poncho, with the first portion covering the front torso of the patient and the second portion covering the back of the patient. A tearable seal is provided at the first portion that allows the first portion to be separated into two halves to expose the front upper torso of the patient and/or to facilitate the placement of the middle portion about the neck and onto the shoulders of the patient.

L'invention concerne une couverture combinée se plaçant sous le corps et sur le corps d'un patient et présentant des première et seconde parties prenant en sandwich une partie médiane. La première partie peut être plus courte que la seconde. Une ouverture est ménagée au niveau de la partie médiane ou à un endroit qui chevauche la partie médiane et la première partie. L'ouverture a une dimension suffisamment grande pour pouvoir y passer la tête d'un patient. Au moins un orifice d'admission d'air est ménagé au niveau de la partie médiane pour permettre l'introduction de l'air dans la couverture. La couverture se présente sous la forme d'un poncho, la première partie couvrant le torse du patient et la seconde partie couvrant le dos du patient. Une bande hermétique déchirable est placée au niveau de la première partie, ce qui permet de séparer cette première partie en deux moitiés de façon à exposer le torse supérieur du patient et/ou à faciliter le placement de la partie médiane autour du cou et sur les épaules du patient.
