A core-shell emulsion polymer comprising A) a core composition comprising components (a) and (b): (a) from about 40 to about 95 % of styrene, alkyl substituted styrene, or alkyl (meth)acrylate; and (a) from about 5 to about 60 % of vinylidene chloride, vinyl chloride, or combinations thereof; and B) a shell composition components (c) and (d): (b) from about 50 to about 85 % of (I) Rf 1(CH2)mZ-C(O)-C(R1)=CH2 (II) Rf 2?(CH2CF2)q(CH2CH2)rZ-C(O)-C(R1) =CH2, or (III) Rf 3O(CF2CF2)q(CH2CH2)rZ-C(O)-C(R1)=CH2 wherein R1 is hydrogen, Cl, F or CH; Z is -O-, -NH- or -S-; Rf 1 and Rf 2? are each a C4 or C6 perfluoroalkyl; and Rf 3 is a C2 C7 perfluoroalkyl optionally interrupted by one to three ether oxygens; and (c) from about 15 to about 50 % of styrene, alkyl substituted styrene, or alkyl (meth)acrylate, provided that i) the core composition comprises from about 20 to about 75 % of the polymer; ii) when Rf 1 or Rf 2 has 4 carbons, R1is CH3; and iii) when Rf 3 has 2 or 3 carbons, R1 is CH3.

L'invention concerne un polymère en émulsion noyau/enveloppe contenant : A) une composition de noyau comprenant les composants (a) et (b) : (a) entre environ 40 et environ 95 % de styrène, de styrène substitué par alkyle, ou d'alkyle (méth)acrylate; et (a) entre environ 5 et environ 60 % de chlorure de vinylide, de chlorure de vinyle, ou de combinaisons de ceux-ci; et B) une composition d'enveloppe comprenant les composants (c) et (d) : (b) entre environ 50 et environ 85 % de (I) Rf 1(CH2)mZ-C(O)-C(R1)=CH2, (II) Rf 2?(CH2CF2)q(CH2CH2)rZ-C(O)-C(R1) =CH2 ou (III) Rf 3O(CF2CF2)q(CH2CH2)rZ-C(O)-C(R1)=CH2, où R1 est hydrogène, Cl, F ou CH; Z est -O-, -NH- ou -S-; Rf 1 et Rf 2? sont chacun un perfluoroalkyle C4 ou C6; et Rf 3 est un perfluoroalkyle C2 C7 éventuellement interrompu par entre un à trois éthers oxygénés; et (c) entre environ 15 et environ 50 % de styrène, de styrène substitué par alkyle, ou d'alkyle (méth)acrylate, à la condition que i) la composition du noyau comprenne entre environ 20 et environ 75 % du polymère; ii) lorsque Rf 1 ou Rf 2 possède 4 atomes de carbone, R1 soit CH3; et iii) lorsque Rf 3 possède 2 ou 3 atomes de carbone, R1 soit CH3.
