A terminal address (EA-A, EA-B) and a system address (AA1, AA2) designating the switching system (PBX1, PBX2) associated with the communication terminal (KE-A, KE-B) are stored in the communication terminal (KE-A, KE-B). When the communication terminal (KE-A, KE-B) is connected to the communication network (ATM--KN), a configuration message containing the terminal address (EA-A, EA-B) is transmitted to the switching system (PBX1, PBX2) determined by reference to the system address (AA1, AA2), which switching system determines the network access address by means of the configuration message.
Selon l'invention, dans un terminal de communication (KE-A, KE-B) sont mémorisées une adresse de terminal (EA-A, EA-B) et une adresse de central (AA1, AA2) désignant le central (PBX1, PBX2) associé audit terminal de communication (KE-A, KE-B). Lors de la connexion du terminal de communication (KE-A, KE-B) au réseau de communication (ATM-KN), un message de configuration contenant l'adresse de terminal (EA-A, EA-B) est transmis au central (PBX1, PBX2) déterminé sur la base de l'adresse de central (AA1, AA2), central par lequel l'adresse d'accès au réseau est déterminée au moyen dudit message de configuration.
