The invention provides nucleic acid molecules comprising all or a part of a daptomycin biosynthetic gene cluster. The daptomycin biosynthetic gene cluster may be derived from Streptomyces, preferably from S. roseosporus. The invention also provides other nucleic acid molecules from S. roseosporus. The invention further provides polypeptides encoded by the nucleic acid molecules, antibodies that specifically bind to the polypeptides, and methods of using the nucleic acid molecules, polypeptides and antibodies to produce daptomycin and other compounds.
L'invention concerne des molécules d'acide nucléique comportant tout ou partie de la famille multigénique biosynthétique de la daptomycine. La famille multigénique biosynthétique de la daptomycine peut provenir des Streptomyces, de préférence des S. roseosporus. L'invention concerne par ailleurs d'autres molécules d'acides nucléiques issues de S. roseosporus. De plus, l'invention concerne des polypeptides codés par les molécules d'acides nucléiques précités, des anticorps qui se lient spécifiquement audits polypeptides, ainsi que des procédés d'utilisation de ces molécules d'acides nucléiques, polypeptides et anticorps pour produire de la daptomycine et d'autres composés encore.
