A powdered beverage mixing and dispensing apparatus which combines a powdered beverage substance and water to produce a desired beverage, for examplecappuccino, hot chocolate, as well as other beverages which may be provided in powdered form. The apparatus includes at least one hopper having a powdered beverage stirring and dispensing mechanism which stirs the powder to further prevent caking and to controllably dispense a desired quantity of powder from the hopper. A water dispensing system is coupled to the apparatus to controllably dispense a quantity of water for mixing with a quantity of powder dispensed from the hopper. A mixing assembly communicates with the hopper and with the water dispensing system to combine powder and water. The mixing assembly includes a frothing mechanism extending into a whipping chamber which communicates with a mixing chamber to mechanically agitate the powder and water combined in the mixing chamber. A weir is positioned in a dispensing tube to minimize the face surface of the angle of repose of the powder in the tube. A vapor removal assembly is positioned between the mixing chamber and the hopper to remove moist air from the mixing assembly to reduce intrusion of such moist air into the hopper and absorption by the beverage powder. A vent tube is provided in the heated water dispensing system to promote draining of a dispensing line communicating with the mixing chamber and to prevent the accumulation of gas bubbles in the dispensing line. A by-pass water system is provided in the apparatus which communicates with a water dispensing line to controllablyintroduce unheated water into the water dispensing system. Additionally, an illuminated display is provided on a front portion of the apparatus. A dispensing nozzle is attached to the mixing assembly for directing the dispensing of a beverage into a container. A tip edge of the nozzle is positioned at an angle to prevent bubble formation thereover.
Cette invention concerne un appareil de confection et de distribution de «breuvage-cristaux» qui combine les cristaux à de l'eau pour réaliser le breuvage souhaité, par exemple du cappucino, du chocolat chaud et tout autre breuvage pouvant être réduit à l'état de cristaux. L'appareil comprend au moins une trémie comportant un mécanisme de mélange et de distribution de cristaux qui malaxe les cristaux pour empêcher leur prise en pain et permettre le dosage d'une quantité appropriée par la trémie de distribution. Un circuit de distribution d'eau raccordé à l'appareil comporte un robinet de dosage pour acheminer la quantité voulue d'eau dans le récipient où se trouvent les cristaux distribués antérieurement. Le dispositif de mélange comprend un mécanisme de moussage qui se prolonge dans une enceinte de fouettage qui est en communication avec une enceinte de mélange pour réaliser l'agitation mécanique des cristaux et de l'eau dans l'enceinte de mélange. Un déversoir est disposé dans un tube de distribution de manière à minimiser la surface de l'angle de repos naturel des cristaux dans le tube. Un dispositif purgeur de vapeur est placé entre l'enceinte de mélange et la trémie pour protéger la trémie d'un excès d'humidité qui serait absorbé par les cristaux. Un tube-évent est prévu dans le circuit d'amenée d'eau chaude pour favoriser la vidange d'une canalisation d'alimentation communicant avec l'enceinte de mélange et prévenir l'accumulation de bulles de gaz dans cette canalisation. Un circuit de dérivation d'eau est prévu dans l'appareil sur la canalisation d'alimentation pour l'amenée dosée d'eau froide dans l'appareil. De plus, un affichage lumineux est ménagé dans la façade de l'appareil. Une buse de distribution raccordée à l'enceinte de mélange sert à verser le breuvage dans un récipient. Le bout de la buse est à angle pour prévenir la formation de bulles.
