The present invention provides a novel histamine H2 receptor (H2RH) and polynucleotides which identify and encode H2RH. The invention also provides genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequences encoding H2RH and a method for producing H2RH. The invention also provides for agonists, antibodies, or antagonists specifically binding H2RH, and their use, in the prevention and treatment of diseases in which H2RH is expressed. Additionally, the invention provides for the use of antisense molecules to polynucleotides encoding H2RH for the treatment of diseases associated with the expression of H2RH. The invention also provides diagnostic assays which utilize the polynucleotide, or fragments or the complement thereof, and antibodies specifically binding H2RH.
L'invention concerne un nouveau récepteur H2 de l'histamine (H2RH) et des polynucléotides qui identifient et codent H2RH. Elle porte aussi sur des vecteurs d'expression manipulés génétiquement et des cellules hôtes comprenant les séquences nucléotidiques codant H2RH, ainsi que sur un procédé de production de H2RH. Elle se rapporte encore à des agonistes, à des anticorps ou à des antagonistes fixant spécifiquement H2RH, et à leur utilisation dans la prévention et le traitement de maladies dans lesquelles H2RH est exprimé. Elle concerne enfin l'utilisation de molécules antisens dirigées contre les polynucléotides codant H2RH pour le traitement de maladies associées à l'expression de H2RH, ainsi que des analyses diagnostiques dans lesquelles on utilise le polynucléotide, des fragments ou le complément de celui-ci, et des anticorps fixant spécifiquement H2RH.
