HOE 90/F 207 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Substituted sulfonylalkylsulfonylureas, processes for their preparation, and their use as herbicides and plant growth regulators The novel heterocyclically substituted sulfonylalkylsul- fonylureas or salts thereof of the formula I Image (I) in which J is a radical of the formula R1SO2-CR2R3-, R4R5N-SO2-CR2R3- Image or Image and in these R1 is a hydrocarbon radical which is optionally substituted by Hal, RO-, RS- and/or ROCO-, or is phenyl and phenylalkyl which are optionally substituted by Hal, R, RO, RS, RSO, RSO2 or ROCO or radicals which are analogous to the 6 last-mentioned radicals which are halogenated, R2 and R3 are hydrogen, Hal, RO, RS, R, Ru, which are optionally substituted by Hal or RS, or are phenyl or phenylalkyl which are in each case optionally substituted by Hal, RO, ROCO, RS, RSO2, the 4 last- mentioned radicals optionally being halogenated in the alkyl moiety, R4 and R5 are hydrogen, R, Ru, it being possible for these to be optionally substituted by Hal, R, RO or RS, or are ROCO, optionally substituted phenyl or phenylalkyl, or dialkylamino, or R4 and R5 together with the nitrogen atom linking them are a hetero- cyclic ring which has 3 to 8 ring atoms and which can contain further hetero atoms N, O and/or S and can also be substituted, R6, R7, R8, R9 and R10 are Hal, R, Ru, it being possible for R and Ru to be substituted by Hal, RO and RS, or are ROCO, or R9 and R10 together with the nitrogen atom are a heterocyclic ring which has 3 to 8 ring atoms and which optionally has further hetero atoms and is substituted, m is 1, 2 or 3, n and o are 0, 1, 2 or 3, A is a radical of the formulae (A-1) to (A-8) Image , Image , Image , A-1 A-2 A-3 Image , Image , Image , A 4 A-5 A-6 or Image Image A-7 A-3 X is H, Hal, R and RO, it being possible for R to be substituted by Hal or RO, Y is H, R, RO or RS, it being possible for R to be substituted by Hal, RO or RS, or is NR9R10, cyclo- alkyl, Ru or RuO, Z is CH or N, X1 is alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl or haloalkoxy, Y1 is -O- or -CH2-, X2 is alkyl or haloalkyl, Y2 is alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio, X3 is alkyl or alkoxy, Y3 is H or alkyl, X4 is alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl or halogen, Y4 is alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, Y5 is alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, N is O or S and R is hydrogen or alkyl, and, in the abovementioned formulae, Hal is halogen, R is alkyl and Ru is alkenyl or alkynyl, are suitable as selective herbicides and plant growth regulators.
