In an electronically controlled injection device for the administering of one or more injections from an injection cartridge (1), the readying of the device for administering and the subsequent administering therefrom are controlled by an electronic control unit (7). This control unit (7) comprises a position or attitude sensor (8) which transmits signals to the control unit (7) such that said readying of the device cannot take place unless the longitudinal axis of the injection cartridge (1) is oriented in a predetermined direction.
