A surgical instrument (100) is provided which includes a cushioned portion (122) attached to at least one of the pressure contact regions of the handle assembly. The cushioned portion (122) is preferably formed from a material which is slip-resistant even in the presence of body fluids. The cushioned portion (122) may be over-molded onto the pressure contact regions of the handle (112). Alternately, the cushioned portion (122) can be fastened to the pressure contact regions of the handle assembly using other fastening techniques including adhesives, screws, welding, etc. In one preferred embodiment, the cushioned portion (122) is formed from a thermplastic elastomer. However, other slip-resistant pliant materials may also be used including elastomers, synthetics, etc.

L'invention concerne un instrument de chirurgie (100) comportant une partie rembourrée (122) fixée à l'une au moins des zones de contact par pression de l'ensemble poignée. Ladite partie rembourrée (122) est, de préférence, constituée d'un matériau antidérapant, même en présence de fluides corporels. La partie rembourrée (122) peut être surmoulée sur les zones de contact par pression de la poignée (112). Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la partie rembourrée (122) peut être fixée sur les zones de contact par pression de l'ensemble poignée par d'autres techniques de fixation, notamment au moyen d'adhésifs, de vis, par soudage, etc. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, la partie rembourrée (122) est fabriquée dans un élastomère thermoplastique. D'autres matériaux déformables antidérapants peuvent toutefois être également utilisés, notamment les élastomères, les synthétiques, etc..
