- 11 - STRUCTURE FOR MOUNTING BACKPLANE APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure Holding members in mounting apertures of certain types of apparatus in cooperation with shoulders on backplane wiring pins secure the apparatus to the pins. The pins are inserted through the apertures. A holding member is formed of a tapered wall surface of an aperture which form a constriction in the aperture. The wall bearing the holding member is made of an elastic material which flexes to allow the shoulder of a pin to pass the holding member during insertion. After the shoulder passes the holding member, the wall conforms substantially to its original shape and locates the holding member behind the shoulder to hold the apparatus in place. The invention solves the prior problem in which apparatus frictionally mounted on the pins loosen in time due to "stress relaxation" of the apparatus material.
