The invention concerns the identification and the characterisation of a novel gene expressed in tumour cells and involved in the regulation of the immune response, the cloning and the characterisation of its cDNA and the corresponding polypeptides. L'invention concerne également des vecteurs contenant un acide nucléique codant pour ce gène, des cellules transformées par de tels vecteurs ainsi que des méthodes de diagnostic et des méthodes de sélection d'un composé chimique ou biochimique capable d'interagir directement ou indirectement avec un acide nucléique ou polypeptide selon l'invention. L'invention concerne en outre des composés pour le traitement de pathologies immunes, notamment les maladies autoimmunes et le cancer.
