A method for protecting digital media content from unauthorised use on a client, is described. The method comprising the steps of receiving from a server on the client a list of processes, instructions, activity descriptions or data types that must not be active simultaneously with playback of the digital media content ("the blacklist"). The method further comprising checking, on the client, for the presence of any items on the list; and continuing interaction with the server, key management and playback of protected content only if no items on the list are detected on the client. A system is also described.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de prévention de l'utilisation non autorisée d'un contenu multimédia numérique relatif à un client. Le procédé consiste à recevoir d'un serveur une liste de traitements, d'instructions, de descriptions d'activité ou de types de données relatives au client qui ne doivent pas être actives simultanément à la lecture du contenu multimédia numérique (= la liste noire =) ; à vérifier la présence de tout élément de la liste relatif au client ; et à poursuivre l'interaction avec le serveur, la gestion de clé et la lecture de contenu protégé uniquement si aucun élément de la liste n'est détecté relativement au client.
