The invention provides a method for enhancing resistance in plants by providing these plants with a gene construct comprising a DNA sequence coding for a receptor for a systemic signal compound, wherein such a systemic signal compound is one or more of the group consisting of salicylic acid, jasmonic acid and brassinosteroids. The resistance can the be induced by contacting said plants with said signal compound. Preferably, the receptor is an RKS receptor, salicylic acid receptor or jasmonic acid receptor. Also combinations and/or chimaeric receptors can be applied.

L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet d'améliorer la résistance de plantes en dotant celles-ci d'un gène chimère qui comprend une séquence ADN codant pour un récepteur pour un composé de signalisation systémique, ce dernier étant un ou plusieurs des éléments sélectionnés dans le groupe comprenant acide salicylique, acide jasmonique et brassinostéroïdes. La résistance peut être induite par mise en contact desdites plantes avec ledit composé de signalisation. De préférence, le récepteur est un récepteur RKS, un récepteur acide salicylique ou un récepteur d'acide jasmonique. L'invention concerne également des combinaisons et/ou des récepteurs chimères.
