An implementation of an auto-completion or auto-correction mechanism where a dictionary of entry list look-up is triggered by the expiry of a time limit between data entry events such as key-press events, where the value of the time limit is dynamically determined as a function of the entry rate. The time limit may be calculated for example on the basis of an average entry rate, and may include an extra margin value. The occurrence of look up triggering will therefore tend to be optimised to the present user's data entry rate.

L'invention concerne la mise en oeuvre d'un mécanisme d'auto-achèvement ou d'auto-correction selon laquelle l'utilisation d'un dictionnaire de recherche de liste d'entrée est déclenchée par expiration d'une limite de temps entre des événements d'entrée de données de type événements de pression de touche, la valeur de la limite de temps étant déterminée de manière dynamique en fonction de la vitesse d'entrée. La limite de temps peut être calculée par exemple sur la base d'une vitesse d'entrée moyenne, et peut comprendre une valeur de marge supplémentaire.
