A method of identifying a compound which modulates the interaction between a PP1c and a regulatory subunit thereof, the method comprising determining whether a compound enhances or disrupts the interaction between (a) a PP1c or a fragment, variant, derivative or fusion thereof or a fusion of a fragment, variant or derivative and (b) a regulatory subunit which is able to bind to PP1c or a PP1c-binding fragment, variant, derivative or fusion of said subunit or a fusion of said fragment, variant or derivative. A method of affecting cellular metabolism or function, the method comprising administering to a cell (a) a compound which modulates the interaction between a PP1c and a regulatory subunit thereof or (b) a compound which mimics the effect of a regulatory subunit of PP1c or (c) a peptide capable of binding a PP1c and which affects the ability of PP1c to bind to a particular target and/or affects the regulation of PP1c activity, or a functional equivalent thereof.
L'invention porte sur un procédé permettant d'identifier un composé qui module l'interaction existant entre une PP1c et une sous-unité de régulation de celle-ci. Ce procédé consiste à déterminer si un composé renforce ou perturbe l'interaction entre (a), une PP1c ou un fragment, un variant, un dérivé ou une fusion de celle-ci ou une fusion d'un fragment, d'un variant ou d'un dérivé et (b) une sous-unité de régulation capable de se lier à une PP1c ou à un fragment, un variant, un dérivé ou une fusion de ladite sous-unité également à même de se lier à la PP1c ou encore une fusion desdits fragment, variant ou dérivé. L'invention porte également sur un procédé permettant d'influer sur un métabolisme ou sur une fonction cellulaire, le procédé consistant à administrer à la cellule, (a), un composé modulant l'interaction entre une PP1c et une sous-unité de régulation de celle-ci, ou, (b), un composé reproduisant l'effet d'une sous-unité de régulation de la PP1c ou, (c), un peptide capable de se lier à une PP1c et agissant sur la capacité de la PP1c à se lier à une cible particulière et/ou agissant sur la régulation de l'activité de la PP1c, ou d'un de ses équivalents fonctionnels.
