A Method of Measuring Ultra-Small Optical Losses ABSTRACT The method relates to photometry, fiber optics, and measur- ement of ultra-small optical losses in other fields of optics. The object of the invention, improving the accuracy of mea- surements, is achieved by modulating the probing optical radiat- ion at a frequency Image , forming a measuring and an optical channels, converting the optical radiation into elec- tric signals, simultaneously and synchronously detecting said signals at a mismatch time Image , and integrat- ing them for a time determined from the formula: Image , wherein .delta.zi is the relative instability of the probing radiation energy; .delta. is the maximum relative measurement error, and .DELTA.Fs is the frequency band of the electric signal.
