The display type surge suppressor is composed of a high efficiency surge suppression circuit and a digital display, wherein it utilizes the arc occurring characteristic of passing surge and transforms it into an instant light, thereby to concretize the abstract behavior of the surge suppression, which allows the user to judge the surge entering routes and modes while the digital display can record the numbers of entering surge, i.e. to show the surge entering status in numerical figures. Thereof the surge suppressor is comprised of several surge-protective devices such as metal oxide varistors (MOV), gas tube arresters, polyswitches, common mode chokes, Transzorbs, etc. and the digital display. The display type surge suppressor has a multi-layers type circuit which completely absorbs the surge energy with high efficiency, multiple use, automatic recovery and rapid surge suppression functions; in addition, the digital display also reads in the power source terminal voltage value during the switch changeover. The display type surge suppressor can be used alone through plugging in the AC power source outlet to suppress the various interference surge in the power distribution circuits, it also can be series combined with the inlet or outlet terminals of electrical appliances for suppressing the various interference surge entering the electrical appliances, thereby to ensure their safety.
