A load-carrying pallet has a platform and a plurality of runners attached beneath the platform, the platform and runners being constructed of composites bonded together. A composite comprises a corrugation of, sheet material having longitudinally extending crests and troughs with buttresses filling the troughs and abutting the corrugation so as to sup- port the corrugation against collapse. The buttresses have a boundary, a reinforcement member on the boundary being a sheet material having tensile strength. The sheet material has a substantial columnar strength when side supported, and may comprise randomly-laid, bonded-together glass fibers. The buttresses are initially adhesive fluid plastic material pene- trated into said sheet materials.
