An apparatus (10) and process are provided for filling a passage (62) between first and second elements (110, 50) with fiber insulation material (120). The apparatus (10) comprises a support (20), an exhaust box (30) rotatably mounted on the support (20) and having an inner cavity (33) and a fixture (36), a device (40) effecting rotation of the exhaust box (30), and first and second elements (110, 50). The first element (110) has an outer surface and the second element (50) has an inner surface. The second element (50) is positioned relative to the first element (110) such that the first and second elements (110, 50) define therebetween the passage (62) which is filled with fiber insulation material (120). At least one of the first and second elements (110, 50) is perforated. The apparatus (10) further includes at least one filling nozzle (60) adapted to supply fiber insulation material (120) to the passage (62) and a vacuum source (130) adapted to draw a partial vacuum in the exhaust box (30) inner cavity (33) while the fiber insulation material (120) is supplied to the passage (62). The partial vacuum causes air to be pulled through the at least one perforated element thus causing the fiber insulation material (120) to be densely packed within the passage (62).
L'invention se rapporte à un appareil (10) et à un procédé permettant de remplir un passage (62) entre un premier et un second élément (110, 50) avec un matériau isolant en fibre (120). Ledit appareil (10) comporte un support (20), une boite d'échappement (30) montée rotative sur le support (20) et possédant une cavité interne (33) et un élément de fixation (36), un dispositif (40) conçu pour faire tourner la boite d'échappement (30), et un premier et un second élément (110, 50). Ledit premier élément (110) possède une surface externe et le second élément (50) possède une surface interne. Le second élément (50) est positionné par rapport au premier élément (110) de sorte que ces premier et second éléments (110, 50) définissent entre eux un passage (62) qui est rempli du matériau isolant en fibre (120). L'un au moins des deux éléments (110, 50) est perforé. L'appareil (10) comporte également au moins une tuyère de remplissage (60) conçue pour amener le matériau isolant en fibre (120) jusqu'au passage (62) et une source de vide (130) conçue pour créer un vide partiel dans la cavité interne de la boite d'échappement (30) pendant que le matériau isolant en fibre (120) est amené jusqu'au passage (62). Le vide partiel provoque l'expulsion de l'air par ledit élément perforé, ce qui permet d'obtenir un bourrage dense du matériau isolant en fibre (120) à l'intérieur du passage (62).
