The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the biochemical purification of a contaminated liquid medium, in which the liquid medium is passed through granular filter material provided in a holder and in which the granular filter material (12) contained in the holder is set in motion, preferably with the aid of an injected gas such as air. Microorganisms and/or an active water for microorganisms can be added to the holder. The filter material may comprise a mixture of lava and sand, for example 28 % to 38 % sand and 61 % to 71 % lava. The granule size of the sand is 0.3 to 1.2 mm and the granule size of the lava is 2 to 10 mm. The main flow of the medium to be purified and the injected gas are oppositely directed. To set the filter material in motion, use is advantageously made of an inner tube (33) placed in an outer tube (32), gas being, blown through the inner tube under the lower end of the inner tube (31) so that gas and filter material drawn in at the lower end of the tubes and medium are transported upwards through the inner tube.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif servant à effectuer la purification biochimique d'un milieu liquide contaminé. Ce procédé consiste à faire passer ledit milieu liquide à travers un matériau filtrant granulaire (12) situé dans un support et qu'on met en mouvement, de préférence à l'aide d'une injection de gaz, tel que de l'air. On peut ajouter au support des micro-organismes et/ou de l'eau permettant le développement de micro-organismes. Le matériau filtrant peut être constitué par un mélange de lave et de sable, par exemple, 28 % à 38 % de sable et 61 % à 71 % de lave. La dimension des grains de sable est de 0,3 à 1,2 mm et la dimension des grains de lave est de 2 à 10 mm. L'écoulement principal du milieu à purifier et du gaz injecté s'effectue en sens contraire. On met le matériau filtrant en mouvement au moyen d'un tube intérieur (33) placé dans un tube extérieur (32), en insufflant le gaz à travers ledit tube intérieur (31), sous son extrémité inférieure, de façon à transporter vers le haut, à travers le tube intérieur, le gaz et le matériau filtrant introduits au niveau de l'extrémité inférieure des tubes.
