Abstract Described is a desorption process and a process for producing a catalytically deactivated formed zeolitic adsorbent, whereby both processes are suitable to improve the lifetime of a formed zeolithic adsorbant in the removal of sulfur compounds from sulfur contaminated gas and liquid feed streams. The adsorbent is in particular a synthetic 13X or LSX faujasite with a silica to alumina ratio from 1.9 : 1.0 to about 3.0 : 1Ø The cations of the faujasite include alkali and alkaline earth metals. The formed zeolite mixture is preferably catalytically deactivated due to a phosphate treatment. The desorption is carried out thermally, wherein the heat treatment is done at different temperature stages to avoid decomposition of the organic sulfur compounds.
L'invention concerne un procédé de désorption et un procédé de production d'un adsorbant zéolitique profilé, désactivé par voie catalytique, les deux procédés étant adaptés à améliorer la durée de vie d'un adsorbant zéolitique profilé dans l'élimination des composés soufrés de flux d'alimentation liquides et gazeux contaminés par du soufre. Ledit adsorbant est en particulier un faujasite 13X ou LSX synthétique présentant un rapport silice/alumine compris entre 1,9:1,0 et 3,0:1,0. Les cations de faujasite comprennent des métaux alcalins et alcalino-terreux. Le mélange zéolitique profilé est de préférence désactivé par voie catalytique, via un traitement aux phosphates. La désorption est effectuée par voie thermique, le traitement thermique étant exécuté à différentes phases de température afin d'éviter la décomposition des composés organiques soufrés.
