The invention relates to a method for the synthesis of ?-amino alkanoic acids or of esters thereof starting from unsaturated natural fatty acids passing through an ?-unsaturated nitrile intermediate compound. The method which is the subject matter of the invention is simple to implement and avoids, compared with the known methods, environmental constraints and economic disadvantages owing to reaction by-products.

L'invention vise un procédé de synthèse d'acides .omega.-amino-alcanoïques ou de leurs esters à partir d'acides gras naturels insaturés transitant par un composé intermédiaire de type nitrile .omega.-insaturé. Le procédé objet de l'invention est simple à mettre en et évite, par rapport aux procédés connus, d'une part les contraintes environnementales et d'autre part les handicaps économiques dus aux sous-produits des réactions.
