A novel C-type lectin "Mincle" which is formed from a transcriptional target gene of a nuclear factor interleukin 6 (NF-IL6) in a peritoneal macrophage (PM.phi.); a gene encoding the same; and medicinal compositions containing the same. A protein which is capable of activating macrophage and induced by a nuclear factor NF-IL6; gene DNA encoding the above protein or polynucleotides consisting of at least 14 bases of the above DNA; medicinal compositions containing the above-described protein and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers; and an antibody against the above protein. This novel protein "Mincle" is useful as a regulator in an immune system, in particular, an immune system under the transcriptional regulation by the nuclear factor NF- IL6.
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle lectine de type C appelée "Mincle" qui est formée à partir d'un gène cible transcriptionnel d'un facteur nucléaire interleukine 6 (NF-IL6) dans un macrophage péritonéal (PM.phi.) ; un gène codant cette dernière et des compositions médicamenteuses qui la contiennent. On présente également une protéine qui est capable d'activer le macrophage et qui est induite par un facteur nucléaire NF-Il6 ; de l'ADN génique codant ladite protéine ou des polynucléotides constitués d'au moins 14 bases dudit ADN ; des compositions médicamenteuses contenant ladite protéine et des supports pharmaceutiquement acceptables ; et un anticorps dirigé contre ladite protéine. Cette nouvelle protéine dénommée "Mincle" est utile en tant que régulateur dans un système immunitaire, en particulier, dans un système immunitaire soumis à la régulation transcriptionnelle par le facteur nucléaire NF-IL6.
