A device for communicating with other devices to allow them to access applications, comprises: at least a first application; authentication means for authenticating a communicating device; and access control means accessible by a communicating device requesting access to the first application without the communicating device having been authenticated by the authentication means. The device is further arranged to arbitrate whether access of the communicating device to the first application is granted or refused wherein if the arbitration requires an authentication of the communicating device, the access control means instructs the authentication means to authenticate the communicating device.

Cette invention concerne un dispositif permettant de communiquer avec d'autres dispositifs et permettant à ces derniers d'accéder à des applications. Ce dispositif comprend les éléments suivants : au moins une première application ; un système d'authentification permettant d'authentifier un dispositif de communication ; et un système de commande d'accès auquel peut accéder un dispositif de communication demandant l'accès à la première application sans que ledit dispositif de communication ait été authentifié par le système d'authentification. Ce dispositif est en outre capable de décider si l'accès du dispositif de communication à la première application doit accordé ou non. Dans le cas où cette décision nécessite une authentification du dispositif de communication, le système de commande d'accès demande au système d'authentification d'authentifier le dispositif de communication.
