A guide wire (1) for re-canalising a vascular occlusion comprises a core wire (5) which terminates at its distal end (4) in a terminal member (7) for opening the occlusion. A helical coil sleeve (10) extends around the core wire (5) from the terminal member (7) to a location (11) along the core wire (5). The terminal member (7) defines first and second planar surface portions (13, 14) which converge towards a distal transversely extending leading edge portion (8). As the terminal member (7) is urged through the vascular occlusion, the first and second surface portions (13, 14) act on the occlusion to form an opening therethrough. A distal portion (28) of the core wire (5) is of spade-like configuration for facilitating bending thereof for directing the terminal member (7) out of a central major plane (35) defined by the distal portion (28) for facilitating aligning of the terminal member (7) with a branched vessel of the vascular system.
L'invention concerne un fil-guide (1) permettant la re-canalisation d'une occlusion vasculaire et comprenant un fil noyau (5) qui se termine à son extrémité distale (4) dans un élément terminal (7) destiné à ouvrir l'occlusion. Un manchon (10) d'une bobine hélicoïdale (10) s'étend autour du fil noyau (5) de l'élément terminal (7) jusqu'à un emplacement (11) situé le long du fil noyau (5). L'élément terminal (7) définit une première et une deuxième parties superficielles planes (13, 14) qui convergent vers une partie bord avant (8) d'extension transversale distale. Lorsque l'élément terminal (7) est enfoncé dans l'occlusion vasculaire, la première et la deuxième parties (13, 14) agissent sur l'occlusion pour former y une ouverture. Une partie distale (28) du fil noyau (5) a une configuration de type pelle pour en faciliter le pliage et faire quitter l'élément terminal (7) d'un plan principal central (35) défini par la partie distale (28) pour faciliter l'alignement de l'élément terminal (7) avec un vaisseau ramifié du système vasculaire.
