Cryogenic tissue ablation instruments for treating body tissue include an elongate flexible body with a proximal supply port for coupling with a pressurized coolant a supply lumen in fluid communication with the proximal supply port, and an expandable cryogenic balloon carried on a distal portion of the elongate body. A dispersion member coupled to a distal end portion of the elongate body has an interior lumen in fluid communication with the supply lumen, the dispersion member having one or more coolant dispersion apertures in fluid communication with the balloon interior and sized and located with respect to the balloon wall such that a pressurized flowable coolant in the supply lumen enters the balloon interior as a liquid spray that provides (through rapid evaporation) substantially uniform cooling of an interior wall surface of the balloon.
L'invention concerne des instruments d'ablation cryogénique de tissu permettant de traiter un tissu corporel qui comprennent un corps flexible allongé avec un orifice d'alimentation proximal pour un couplage avec un agent réfrigérant mis sous pression, une lumière d'alimentation en communication fluidique avec l'orifice d'alimentation proximal, et un ballonnet cryogénique expansible porté par une partie distale du corps allongé. Un élément de dispersion couplé à une partie d'extrémité distale du corps allongé présente une lumière intérieure en communication fluidique avec la lumière d'alimentation, l'élément de dispersion présentant une ou plusieurs ouvertures de dispersion d'agent réfrigérant en communication fluidique avec l'intérieur du ballonnet et dimensionné et situé par rapport à la paroi de ballonnet de telle sorte qu'un agent réfrigérant liquide mis sous pression dans la lumière d'alimentation entre à l'intérieur du ballonnet sous la forme d'une pulvérisation liquide qui donne (par une évaporation rapide) un refroidissement essentiellement uniforme d'une surface de paroi intérieure du ballonnet.
