A method for preparing fluoroalkylsulfonyl imides by reacting a fluoroalkylsulfonamide with a fluoroalkylsulfonyl halide or a fluorosulfonyl halide in the presence of a non-nucleophilic base. One reaction is: Z-R s-SO2NH2 + Z-R'f-SO2-X + 2B ~ (Z-R f-SO2)(Z-R'f- SO2)N-.cndot.BH+ + BHX, where each Z is a fluorine atom or a polymerizable organic functional group, R f and R'f are fluoroalkylene groups optionally containing catenary oyxgen or nitrogen, X is a halogen atom, and B is a non-nucleophilic base. Unsymmetrical imides and polymeric imides can be prepared.

Procédé de préparation de fluoroalkylsulfonylimides par réaction d'un fluoroalkylsulfonamide avec un halogénure de fluoroalkylsulfonyle ou de fluorosulfonyle en présence d'une base non nucléophile. L'une des réactions répond à la formule suivante: Z-Rf-SO2NH2 + Z-R'f-SO2-X + 2B => (Z-Rf-SO2)(Z-R'f-SO2)N<-.>BH<+> + BHX, dans laquelle chaque Z est un atome de fluor ou un groupe fonctionnel organique polymérisable, Rf et R'f représentent des groupes fluoroalkylène contenant éventuellement de l'azote ou de l'oxygène caténaire, X est un atome d'halogène, et B est une base non nucléophile. Des imides asymétriques et des imides polymères peuvent ainsi être produites.
