An apparatus (1) is disclosed for processing, i.e. inversely collating, also called centrally inserting, printed products. Said apparatus comprises a collating drum (10) which is rotatably driven about an approximately horizontal axis of rotation (A), is at least functionally subdivided into axial sections, and is provided with separate compartments (13) and/or saddle-shaped supports (21) that are externally open in a radial direction, are evenly distributed in the circumferential direction, and extend approximately in the direction of the axis of rotation (A). The apparatus further comprises a first feeding device (40) for delivering printed products (P) to the processing drum (10), and a conveyor (90) for conveying the printed products (E) away from the processing drum (10), said conveyor (90) being located downstream of a first feeding device (40) in the direction of the axis of rotation (A), in the direction of the axial component of the direction of travel. The apparatus also comprises conveying elements that are associated with the compartments (13) and/or the supports (21) and are used for conveying the printed products in the axial direction (F) when the processing drum (10) rotates, and a processing station and/or at least one additional feeding station (41, 42, 43, 44) located between the first feeding device (40) and the conveyor (50) in order to process the printed products (P, T) and/or feed additional printed products (P). At least one secondary conveying section (50, 60, 70) is arranged between the first feeding device (40) and the conveyor (90).

L'invention concerne un dispositif (1) de traitement de produits imprimés pour collecte inverse, également désignée par encartage central. Le dispositif comprend : un tambour collecteur (10), entraîné en rotation autour d'un axe de rotation sensiblement horizontal (A), au moins fonctionnellement subdivisé en sections axiales, et présentant des supports (21) en forme d'étrier et/ou des compartiments séparés (13), ouverts vers l'extérieur en direction radiale, uniformément distribués sur la périphérie, et s'étendant sensiblement en direction de l'axe de rotation (A), un premier dispositif d'alimentation (40) pour l'amenée de produits imprimés (P) au tambour de traitement (10), un convoyeur (90) pour le transport des produits imprimés (E) à partir du tambour de traitement (10), ledit convoyeur (90) étant disposé en aval du premier dispositif d'alimentation (40), en direction de l'axe de rotation (A), en direction du composant axial, dans le sens d'avancement, des éléments de convoyage associés aux compartiments (13) et/ou aux supports (21), servant au transport des produits imprimés en direction axiale (F) lorsque le tambour de traitement (10) est entraîné en rotation, et une station de traitement et/ou au moins une autre station d'alimentation (41, 42, 43, 44), disposée entre le premier dispositif d'alimentation (40) et le convoyeur (50), pour le traitement des produits imprimés (P, T), éventuellement, pour l'amenée de produits imprimés supplémentaires (P). Au moins une section de convoyage secondaire (50, 60, 70) est prévue entre le premier dispositif d'alimentation (40) et le convoyeur (90).
