Novel benzoheterocyclic compound of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which show excellent antivasopressin activity and oxytocin antagonistic activity, and are useful as a vasopressin antagonist or oxytocin antagonist. A is a 5- or 6-membered unsaturated heterocyclic residue having 1 to 2 heteroatoms. B1 and B2 are each methylene or a group of the formula: -NR8- (wherein R8 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group).
