A windshield support system is provided. The support system generally comprises support elements which are respectively adapted to be fixedly mounted on each side of the frame of a vehicle so that an open space is defined between them. The support elements are further adapted to engage and hold the lateral edges of a normally flat yet relatively flexible and resilient windshield panel having a width which is generally somewhat greater than width of the space defined between the support members. Due to the difference between the width of the spaced and the width of the windshield panel, the latter is forced to assume a generally convex curved shape.
