A process for minimising reoxidation of reduced material is disclosed. The process applies to reduced material that has been formed by a process of electrochemically reducing a metal oxide feed material, such as titania, in a solid state in an electrolytic cell containing a molten electrolyte. The process for minimising reoxidation includes applying an electrical potential to reduced material at least while the reduced material remains immersed in the molten electrolyte.

La présente invention concerne un processus permettant de minimiser la ré- oxydation d'un matériau réduit. Ce processus s'applique sur un matériau réduit qui a été formé par un processus de réduction électrochimique d'un matériau d'alimentation d'oxyde métallique, tel que du titane, dans un état solide, dans une cuve électrolytique contenant un électrolyte fondu. Ce processus permettant de minimiser la ré- oxydation consiste à appliquer un potentiel électrique sur le matériau réduit au moins pendant que ce matériau réduit reste immergé dans l'électrolyte fondu.
