18656 Abstract of the Disclosure A gypsum panel has a lower face layer comprised of a mixture of a gypsum binder with 10% to 254 by weight of fiber., an upper face layer comprised of a mixture of a gypsum binder with 10% to 25% by weight of fibers, and a core layer between the face layers and comprised of a mixture of a gypsum binder with 35% to 60%, by weight of fibers. The core layer is elastically compressible. The mass ratios are 10% to 25% for the face layers and 50% to 80% for the core layer. The core layer is normally about 50% by weight of fibers and the face layers about 18% by weight and the fibers are recycled-paper fibers.
