Carboxanilides of the formula I (see formula I) where the substituents have the following meanings: R is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl, alkenyloxy, alkynyl, alkynyloxy, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, cycloalkyloxy, cycloalkenyloxy or phenyl; A is one of the radicals A1 to A5 (see formula A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5) where R1 is hydrogen or alkyl; R2 is halogen or alkyl; R3 is alkyl or haloalkyl; n is 1 or 2, methods of manufacturing them, and agents containing them and their use for controlling harmful fungi.
