Novel compositions and methods for treatment of hyperkeratotic mammalian tissue are disclosed employing proteolytic enzymes originally developed for the hydrolysis of food-related proteins and currently commonly used as food grade meat tenderizers and flavor enhancers. The compositions containing these proteinases soften, thin and exfoliate hyperkeratotic formations on the skin, including calluses, corns, dry, scaling/flaking skin and keratoses without harming surrounding tissue by selective lysing of hyperkeratotic tissue. Such enzymes accomplish this by lysing only the 10-end peptide bonds of keratin protein, the dominant protein component of hyperkeratotic skin.
Nouvelles compositions et nouveaux procédés destinés au traitement du tissu mammalien hyperkératosique, qui utilisent des enzymes protéolytiques initialement développées pour l'hydrolyse des protéines de type alimentaire et largement utilisées en tant qu'agents améliorant la tendreté de la viande ou la saveur des aliments. Les compositions contenant ces protéinases adoucissent, fluidifient et exfolient les formations hyperkératosiques sur la peau, y compris les cals, les durillons, la peau sèche / écailleuse / floconneuse et les kératoses sans affecter le tissu environnant grâce à une lyse sélective du tissu hyperkératosique. Ces enzymes permettent d'obtenir cet effet par la lyse des liaisons peptidiques à 10 extrémités uniquement de la protéine kératine, protéine dominante de la peau hyperkératosique.
