ABSTRACT An angling device in which a spring inside a housing is loaded by an arm connected to the spring and movable along a main slot in the housing. The arm is movable into a lateral slot so as to hold the spring in loaded condition. Guide apertures are provided exteriorly of the housing and also upon an outward extension of the arm to enable a fishing line to be attached easily and the line may extend as a single length through the apertures to a fishing hook. A fish pulling upon the hook will cause the arm to return into the main slot thereby releasing the spring to force the arm back along the main slot and jerk the line. As the guide apertures are exteriorly of the housing, no internal line attachment is required and the housing may be completely closed except for the slots thereby resisting entry of contaminants into the housing. 16
