A method of assessing a subject comprising exercising said subject on an exercise apparatus for exercising muscle groups said exercise apparatus including: support means (13) for supporting the subject's body in a desired exercising attitude; force application means (11) for applying a continuous or variable force to a part of the subject's body whereby one or more of the large muscle groups may be employed to resist said force; positioning means adapted for contact by another part of the subject's body for assisting the patient to position and maintain said part of the body in a substantially stationary position by limiting movement of said other part; and- at least one strain gauge (45) associated with said force application means (11) wherein said at least one strain gauge (45) provides a measurement of the resistance exerted by said patient against said continuous or variable force whereby said measurement is electronically distributed to interested parties.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'évaluation d'un sujet consistant à faire faire des exercices audit sujet placé sur un exerciseur servant à faire travailler des groupes de muscles. Cet exerciseur comprend un dispositif de support (13) conçu pour soutenir le corps du sujet dans état souhaité pour la pratique des exercices, un dispositif d'application de forces (11) destiné à appliquer une force variable ou continue sur une partie du corps du sujet, dont au moins un groupe de muscles importants peut être utilisé pour résister à cette force, un dispositif de positionnement conçu pour rentrer en contact avec une autre partie du corps du sujet de manière à aider le patient à placer et à maintenir ladite partie de son corps à une position pratiquement stationnaire par limitation du mouvement d'une autre partie, et au moins un mesureur de tension (45) associé audit dispositif d'application de forces (11), ce mesureur de tension (45) engendrant une mesure de la résistance exercée par ledit patient contre cette force continue ou variable, ladite mesure étant distribuée au niveau électronique aux parties intéressées.
